Description

Description

Trainers and other professionals who have previously completed the MBCL teacher training are now facilitating MBCL training courses themselves, or are in the process of preparing to do so, or are integrating MBCL themes and exercises into their work in other ways. This often creates a need for deeper understanding and exchange with colleagues. This continuing education focuses on the practice of Compassionate Breathing. This secular and accessible compassion practice is included in the MBCL program and inspired by tonglen, or the practice of receiving and sharing. In this refresher course, Compassionate Breathing will be explored in an experiential way. Theoretical backgrounds and trauma-sensitive elements in guiding Compassionate Breathing will be highlighted. In addition, there will be room for participants to practice in pairs or threes in self-guidance and facilitating inquiry or mindful dialogue in this wonderfully paradoxical practice.

Aim

  • To deepen your personal understanding and practice of mindfulness and compassion.

  • To broaden your understanding of “Compassionate Breathing” and how to guide it in a trauma-sensitive way as a trainer/professional.

  • To deepen the skills of trainers/professionals who have experience working with (parts of) the MBCL program.

  • To deepen insight into which clients and in what ways compassion training can be beneficial.

  • Deepening the professional attitude and skills in facilitating mindful dialogue or inquiry individually or in a group.

Content

  • Experiential practice of Compassionate Breathing (tonglen).

  • Exploring theoretical backgrounds, such as the origins of tonglen, how this practice is integrated into the MBCL program, pitfalls, and trauma-sensitive elements in guiding Compassionate Breathing individually and/or in groups.

  • Specific peer supervision questions related to the theme of the day. Please email these questions to info@fritskoster.nl at least one week before the start of the course.
